New Voices Support Changing News Cycle: How the N&O is Leveraging Influencers to Talk Policy
The traditional news cycle has seen a significant shift over the past several years as social media has claimed its stake as a medium for news consumption and new voices – in the form of influencers – have immerged.
Join us on Wednesday, July 18 to hear from Phil Lucey, the Executive Director of the N.C. Press Association and Sara Glines, the Publisher of the N&O as they present on the recently launched Influencer Series, a joint initiative between the News & Observer, Charlotte Observer and Herald-Sun in Durham that is designed to generate long-lasting conversation between North Carolina residents and important thought leaders throughout the state.
The Series has assembled 60 North Carolinians – including four former governors, the CEOs of Duke Energy, Atrium Health, Lending Tree and El Centro Hispano, among others – to engage in a dialogue about key issues leading up to the North Carolina general election in November.
In addition to presenting the Influencer Series, Lucey and Glines will discuss and answer questions about the current news climate and projections for the future.
We look forward to seeing you there!
