May 2021 PD Event (Virtual): COVID Crisis Communication & Marketing for Destination Marketing Organizations

The tourism industry made a big pivot in 2020 from inspirational tourism marketing to informational messaging. Join Andrew D. Schmidt, CHME, MPA, President and CEO of the Greenville-Pitt County Convention and Visitors Bureau, for an overview of how Visit Greenville, NC worked to balance communicating timely public health updates to our residents and visitors, while continuing to support our local businesses and tourism economy by encouraging and promoting their adherence to safety guidelines.

Andrew D. Schmidt, CHME, MPA is a twenty-seven year veteran of the hospitality industry with a mix of hotel, destination marketing, and academic background.  Andrew has worked with the Greenville-Pitt County Convention & Visitors Bureau in various capacities for 25 years and currently serves as the President & CEO for the organization. Andrew has also been an Adjunct Faculty Member of the ECU School of Hospitality Leadership with fifteen years of experience teaching introductory and senior level courses in marketing, services, and convention planning. Andrew holds a graduate degree from East Carolina University in the field of Public Administration and also received his undergraduate degree from ECU as well.

Andrew lives in Greenville, North Carolina with his wife Kim and they have four adult children.

NCPRSA Refund Policy

For NCPRSA events (professional development, networking, skills, etc.), no refunds will be issued if the event is postponed by the Chapter due to an act of nature (snow, hurricane, etc.). If the Chapter cancels the event, refunds in full will be made as soon as feasible. If for some reason you are unable to attend an event for which you registered and paid, no refund will be issued, so we encourage you to transfer your registration to another professional.
