November 2020 PD Event (online) – Moving Communications Up the Value Chain

November 19 @ 11:45 am - 1:00 pm

There’s never been a time like the present for communications to move up the value chain. As our environment grows more complex and uncertain, communications professionals are in prime position to lead in their organizations. In this discussion, Kristy Fair Ballentine, global communications director at Lenovo, will explain how she and her team have put new programs and initiatives on the management agenda and implemented a comms-led approach in advancing key areas of the business. She’ll share the four steps to driving meaningful change and tips on how to elevate communications within your organization.

Kristy Fair Ballentine manages global communications for Lenovo. In her role as director, she loves the variety of work that comes in such a fast-paced environment as the global smart device industry. Her role takes her from creating strategic communications programs to managing crises and issues in the media, launching some of the company’s most important products, and helping build the brand and company’s reputation. Always curious and always learning, she returned to UNC to become a double tarheel and obtain her MBA. Before moving to a corporate career, her background as a television reporter took her to some interesting places – riding in a hot air balloon –to impactful events – reporting during Hurricane Isabel – and to some life changing stories – the exoneration of a death row inmate.
