Medical Mutual Insurance Company of North Carolina, one of the nation’s largest providers of professional liability insurance and other services for physicians, seeks a driven and energetic Communications Specialist—Writer/Editor in our Raleigh office. Summary of Position:
The Communications Specialist—Writer/Editor will play an integral role in maintaining and enhancing the quality of Medical Mutual’s internal and external content, helping to drive a culture that appreciates the power of language to shape business outcomes. The individual in this role will support the Corporate Communications department with content creation, document editing, and process management. This position reports to the Vice President of Corporate Communications.

Draft blog and newsletter content, external and internal presentations, marketing collateral, and executive correspondence
Edit internal and external documents for logic, persuasiveness, clarity, and grammar/diction
Manage content calendar
Coordinate publication of corporate blog and internal company newsletter

Three to five years’ experience working in a communications role or another position with a significant communications and/or writing/editing component
Bachelor's degree in liberal arts/humanities, Communications, Journalism, or a related field

Extraordinary written and spoken communication skills
Ability to greatly enhance the quality of submitted content through the editing process
High proficiency with PowerPoint, Keynote, and Prezi
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator)
A commitment to solving problems others have not even identified and to relentlessly improving self, team, and organization
Ability to build and leverage strong collaborative relationships with staff members at all levels and external stakeholders
Ability to think analytically, to multitask, and to perform high-quality work in a fast-paced environment
