Position can be located in Gastonia, Colfax, Hickory, or Asheville, NC.

What will you do?
*Develop and lead a comprehensive council marketing plan for media, marketing and community relations that strengthens brand awareness and increases membership.
*Design collateral and craft messages that increase understanding about the benefits of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and the need for volunteers
*Collaborate with Director of Outside Recruitment to design marketing campaign messages and materials to ensure effective recruitment campaigns.
*Lead and support marketing efforts for Outdoor Experience, Product Program, Retail and other council operations.

Who are we looking for?
*A brand champion with three or more years’ experience managing all aspects of marketing, including marketing cloud, publications, media relations, and public relations who is passionate about telling the Girl Scout story.
*Someone with demonstrated success in developing and implementing comprehensive short-term and long range marketing and communication plans.
*An engaging and captivating communicator, writer and editor who is able to tailor the message to the audience.
*Someone who uses proper grammar, punctuation and spelling and is a role model for others in doing so.
*A coach with three or more years’ experience leading and developing a department team to achieve results.
*An achievement-oriented individual with consistent drive, persistence, sense of urgency and a willingness to learn.
*An innovative person with a can-do attitude with excellent problem-solving skills.
*A “calm in the storm” kind of person, who can effectively serve as council spokesperson to the media.
*Someone with the ability to learn and utilize new software applications and train team members in effective use.
*A critical thinker with a big-picture perspective who manages details and multiple priorities effectively.
*Someone who is willing and able to work varied hours, including evenings and occasional weekends, and to travel regularly throughout the assigned geography and as needed within our 40-county jurisdiction.
*Someone who takes pride in their work and is passionate about the Girl Scout Promise, Law and Mission and values and promotes our commitment to diversity and inclusion.
*Experience with and knowledge of Girl Scout philosophy, standards, program and systems and prior non-profit leadership work is preferred.

What else will you need?
*Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations or related field is required.
*Reliable form of transportation, possession of a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance coverage.
*The ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
*Acceptable criminal background check and driver history.

Hiring range: 44,000- 49,000
