The Communication and Marketing Manager leads marketing operations for the division of student affairs to ensure alignment with university and Student Affairs values and strategic areas of focus.
Oversee integrated communication functions across 14 departments within student affairs including literature/material development and collateral development. Develop strategic communication plan for key messages that reinforce university messaging. Support the university in crisis communication efforts, specifically working with Police and Public Safety operations. Draft press releases for division/department events. In accordance with university’s media policy and as determined by Chief Communications and Marketing Officer, field media inquiries related to the Division of Student Affairs.
Work with community partners and other university departments to market and coordinate Student Affairs opportunities and programs. Work to expand educational outreach including working with professors and Academic Affairs to develop promotions and events to integrate content into the classroom.
Ensure compliance with university’s brand standards in all areas of Student Affairs. Seek opportunities for reinforcing brand through visual identity in physical space, through activities, in design and digitally. Create, layout, and design all division/department assets including print and digital materials
Manage online presence for Division of Student Affairs. In coordination with the university Webmaster, serve as managing Web Information Coordination (WIC) for Student Affairs departments and division section developing strategy and offering guidance for sections on university web site. Oversee and implement Student Affairs social media strategy. Guide and support DSA departments in the management of individual social media pages and perform annual audit of existing presence.
In coordination with the university’s marketing and communication plans and efforts, develop and manage the student affairs annual marketing plan, budget, and any subsequent marketing plans for individual events. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Training and Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Management Preferences: Preference for candidates with higher education experience. Proficiency with Adobe Create Suite and Drupal.
