This Public Relations Specialist vacancy will work from our Durham, NC headquarters – with Remote or Hybrid arrangements considered.
Duties, Responsibilities and Expectations:
Work with Business Units to identify and develop communications including press releases, editorial content, videos, fact sheets, media kits, etc. in support of product launches, customer successes, company milestones and events.
Primary responsibilities include:
Writing product and Business unit-specific press releases and working with internal teams (legal, product, executive and sales) to develop messaging and obtain necessary approvals.
Manage and direct external PR Agencies to develop pre- and post-launch media pitches, identify target media, develop media presentations, schedule media briefings, etc.
Serve as liaise between PR Agency and product teams to schedule media interviews, develop content (e.g. Q&A) and respond to media request for information.
Develop strategic plans to generate and leverage content (white papers, contributed articles, fact sheets, etc.) in target publications or with target audiences. Coordinate internal review and approval of all generated content.
Manage global marketing teams and PR agencies to coordinate product launches and communications across North America, Asia, Italy and Germany.
Serve as liaise between Wolfspeed Corporate Marketing and global communications teams (including external agencies). Build relationships and establish processes for leveraging North American communications materials and for developing content for local markets.
Proactively manage customer installation press releases for Business Units:
Work with sales teams to identify customer wins.
Write, develop and/or edit press releases.
Liaise with customers/partners to gather necessary information and approvals and manage internal review process.
Work with PR Agency to leverage content via media interviews, media pitches and article placement.
Manage and respond to media requests for information (including global) or designate another appropriate Wolfspeed spokesperson or information source.
Coordinate media tracking and reporting across PR agencies and global communications teams.
Work closely with Business Units and PR agencies to develop short- and long-term objectives, strategies and tactics.
Contribute direction and content to Wolfspeed social media platforms.
Other duties and responsibilities as required.
2-3 years of public relations and/or corporate communications experience, including but not limited to: writing press releases, media relations, content creation, social media, digital media.
Strong technical writing experience - demonstrated ability to effectively interpret technical content and translate to a larger non-technical audience.
Project management experience and strong multi-tasker. Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy working with diverse internal and external clients.
Excellent time management, organization and interpersonal skills.
Experience managing and working with public relations agencies.
Ability to take initiative to make creative and strategic suggestions.
Associated Press writing style experience/knowledge.
Social media experience and knowledge.
International PR and communications experience.
Experience in high-tech industries, particularly the semiconductor industry, experience a plus.
Experience working for a global, publicly traded company.
