We seek a senior-level specialist to join the Reputation Management department to help grow a standard setting Public Relations function for the firm, supporting Edward Jones' overall reputation, attraction of new clients and trust factor with internal and external stakeholders. This position is responsible for reactive media strategy, firmwide awards and rankings, issues and crisis management and local branch team media support.

Responsibilities Include
Implement proactive strategies to cultivate key national and regional media relationships. Support financial advisors' local presence, relationships and business through media training, key messaging and community engagement opportunities.
Maintain relationships with key media outlets and influencers to help identify opportunities to drive publicity and help build the brand in the minds of clients, investors and potential associates.
Assist in the development and maintenance of an effective crisis management and response plan. Collaborate with legal, compliance and other internal stakeholders in the handling of issues and events.
Lead the firm's awards and rankings program, advancing the brand and reputation of the firm and helping to accomplish key business objectives and aiding awareness with a broader group of stakeholders.
Lead projects to develop communication strategies that will influence and help align business objectives and activities.
Execute public relations components of marketing campaigns to drive key business objectives.
Assist with evaluation of communications effectiveness and results reporting to stakeholders. Accountable for communications metrics.
Write and edit a broad range of external- and internal-facing communications.
Partner with agencies and vendor support to execute strategies in alignment with Reputation Management priorities.

Bachelor's degree in communication, journalism, marketing or related field; or equivalent work experience is required.
7+ years of experience as a public relations professional or working journalist in a corporate or agency setting.
Excellent writing and editing skills. Demonstrated ability to take complicated topics and develop clear communications that inform and educate target audience.
Working knowledge of communication principles, tools and design elements.
Demonstrated ability to deliver the right results, think strategically and build networks and partnerships.
Outstanding organizational and program management skills; able to manage competing priorities.
Demonstrated ability to manage changing priorities and deadlines. Must be flexible and work within a dynamic environment.
Possess a strong knowledge of social media platforms and digital technologies.
Understanding of what constitutes news and knowledge of how the media work are required
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
