The Senior Specialist Social Media provides support, oversight, and coordination of public relations tactics through social media channels. The Senior Specialist Social Media is responsible for engaging the community on social media channels by posting and responding with appropriate content. Develops content and supports social media strategy for Novant Health and all its social media properties. Shares media on-call responsibilities with the larger public relations team. Works collaboratively with the public relations and marketing teams to achieve the goals of the organization. Essential to the job are strong interpersonal, writing, project management, and communication skills.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree required. Bachelor’s Degree in English literature, public relations, journalism, or communications preferred.
Experience: Minimum of three years of social media experience required. Media relations or public relations experience preferred
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Additional Skills Required: Highly knowledgeable on all social media platforms, as well as emerging media and new technology platforms. Results-oriented track record with strong understanding of research, analytics and measurement. A Senior Specialist Social Media must develop and continually improve knowledge and skills in the areas of current health care trends and issues of interest to the media and health care consumers. He or she must keep abreast of regulatory and governing standards, corporate policies and procedures, and corporate and regional planning and development efforts. Superior written and oral communication skills are necessary. He or she must show a cooperative spirit in participating as a member of a corporate public relations and social media team.
Additional Skills Preferred: Media relations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Collaboration: Collaborates with counterparts across Novant Health Participates as a member of the public relations and corporate communications teams for the Novant Health system. Oversee development of an employee social media community – connecting senior executives to employees to drive engagement in key strategic initiatives and issues of importance to employees.
Management: Contributes to the development of the overall social media and online community strategy – to drive engagement, conversation, awareness, loyalty, and revenue for the Helps develop an integrated social media program that advances our brand, advertising, digital marketing, public/community relations, and employee communications.
Process: Creates meaningful, relevant social media content and experiences for multiple audiences, including current and prospective patient-families, employees, community supporters, reporters, medical professionals, among
Quality Improvement: Builds engagement and loyalty across online communities, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, and key influencer Maximizes the potential of each channel while maintaining a consistent and unified social media presence. Acts as the organization’s social media evangelist, e.g., educating, training, socializing, and reporting on how best to leverage social media to meet the organization’s business objectives.
Evaluation: Benchmarks the social media program performance, including individual campaigns and Develops and executes plans to improve social media performance and effectiveness. Uses Google Analytics, Cision and other measurement tools to provide reports on metrics, and continually finds ways to improve on those metrics through testing and new initiatives. Evaluates, reports and develops recommendations based on engagement, conversation trends, online behaviors, satisfaction, and future behavior intention ratings (e.g., likelihood to recommend).
