This position is located in Durham, North Carolina and is eligible for Self- Help’s hybrid work arrangement of two days per week of working off-site.

Job Description

The Vice President (VP) reports to the Executive Vice President and supervises three directors and a high performing national team that provides the full range of communication services, including, but not limited to, brand development and management, public and media relations, internal communications, digital/online initiatives, traditional print projects, sales promotions and collateral, social media, corporate website and intranet, content creation, copywriting, and special events.

Essential Responsibilities:

Provide strategic counsel to senior leadership, business teams and key stakeholders across the organization

Lead the continuous development of Self-Help’s brand and voice to build awareness, uniqueness, relevance and reputation among target consumers

Deliver campaigns and public relations strategies that drive results for individual business lines

Evaluate Self-Help’s online marketing performance and create an excellent web and social media presence

Lead organization-wide and line of service-specific online and offline channel campaigns to support business goals and objectives

Develop and deploy a comprehensive crisis communications plan and manage crises as they arise

Remain current on laws and regulations that affect marketing, ensuring marketing pieces, disclosures, and web site are technically and legally compliant

Establish and monitor the annual marketing budget to maximize cost-effective operations, programs, etc.

Credentials, Experience and Skills:

BA/BS or equivalent experience in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Economics, Business or related

8+ years of additional experience in marketing, public relations and program leadership with a proven track record of success in managing a range of marketing and communications functions such as brand management, customer marketing, digital marketing, creative services, public relations and engagement

5+ years of successful experience leading high-performance, cross-functional teams, with responsibility for direct reports in the last three
Hands on experience with CRM and SEO tools like Google Analytics, Salesforce,

Public relations accreditation (APR) preferred
