PR for Good Nonprofit Application
Thank you for your interest in applying for selection for the PRSA NC Chapter’s PR for Good session project #1 for 2025. Nominations are open now for nonprofits to apply for the January – June 2025 session. Our goal is to help nonprofits in the membership area of PRSA NC Chapter (Greensboro area to the coast) do the most good in their communities. Our team of talented PR professionals will help you advance your objectives by building recognition, trust, and support with key stakeholders. The deadline to submit your application is 11:59 pm on January 3, 2025.
What to expect? We’ll assign a project team of about six members to your organization. They’ll fill key roles, including a team leader/project manager, as well as other skills, from areas like strategy, media relations, social media, content, measurement, and creative. Team members are committed to spending up to five hours a month working on your organization’s PR.
Organization Eligibility
In the United States, qualified organizations include non-profits that are United States Internal Revenue Code (“IRS”) section 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations, 501(c)(3) equivalent organizations, and IRS Code section 170(c)(1) organizations that meet program criteria. This typically includes public and private schools as well as municipalities.
Organization Ineligibility
- Political organizations, politically affiliated organizations, political parties or candidates; political advocacy groups, or political advocacy groups sponsored by eligible organizations.
- Organizations that primarily promote religious purposes, require participants to be of a certain faith, or deliver social services with prayer, proselytization or other specifically religious activities. This includes gifts intended to fulfill a person's pledge, tithe, dues or other financial commitment that is related to a religious organization or is denominational.
- Charitable organizations designated by the US Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control as Specially Designated Nationals or Blocked Persons.
- Organizations listed on the Southern Poverty Law Center Hate List Group.
- Organizations in the U.S. with the following NTEE Codes:
- All X's (Religion)
- Z99 (Unknown)
- R61 (Reproductive Rights)
- R62 (Right to Life)
- W20 (Government and Public Admin)
- W24 (Citizen Participation)
